On WEDNESDAY, APRIL 15th, STUNNA presents another very special edition of 'THE GREENROOM' on BASSDRIVE radio. In this week's broadcast, STUNNA welcomes seasoned DRUM+BASS producer and DJ I WANNABE to the show for an exclusive guest mix.

KIEV, UKRAINE-based artist I WANNABE (aka ANDREY SIROTKIN)'s fascination with electronic music coincided with the 'golden era' of the 1990s. It was then that ANDREY first heard the 1977 classic space disco album 'MAGIC FLY' by the FRENCH band SPACE. This initial encounter launched ANDREY's journey into the the exciting world of beats and synthesizers. DRUM+BASS act E-Z ROLLERS' record "MEATBALL" became ANDREY's point of no return in his new musical consciousness.

Since 2000, the DRUM+BASS style had become the guiding star of ANDREY's creative explorations. After trying out a number of different sequencers and subgenres, ANDREY worked hard to hone his own unique style. Starting in 2007, tracks under his I WANNABE guise have been released on a number of esteemed labels such as FORMATION, 22:22, DISTURBED, CYMBALISM, RUBIK, INCEPTION:AUDIO, MACHINIST MUSIC, CLEAR CONCEPTIONS, KOS.MOS MUSIC, and OFFWORLD RECORDINGS. He's received positive play and support from global heavyweights LONDON ELEKTRICITY, BAILEY, B.TRAITS, RSD, DODGE + FUSKI, CHRIS INPERSPECTIVE, CUTWORX, ELECTROSOUL SYSTEM, GVOZD, NEED FOR MIRRORS, DJ TRAX, and NOISIA. In his native land of UKRAINE, I WANNABE has gained wide popularity thanks to remixes for artists such as KAZKA, ZAPASKA, PLUTON + SKYER, MAUOQ, ATOMIC SIMAO, and KATYA CHILLY.

In 2018, I WANNABE launched his own DEVIANT DRUMS imprint with the 'DREAMS' EP. With exclusive remixes on the EP from scene stalwarts COMMIX and TOTAL SCIENCE, DEVIANT DRUMS is I WANNABE's label setup to only release in the vinyl format. Pushing his own label forward into the 2020s, I WANNABE continues to produce music for other quality labels, while maintaining a steady calendar of bookings around the world.

'THE GREENROOM' Guest Mix from TIM NICE - April 8, 2020

On WEDNESDAY, APRIL 8th, STUNNA presents another special edition of 'THE GREENROOM' on BASSDRIVE radio. In this week's broadcast, we're treated to an exclusive guest mix from talented producer and DJ TIM NICE, as he makes his return to the show.

Educator, DJ, producer and engineer, TIM NICE (aka TIN NICKLESS) was raised on the southwest side of CHICAGO and first experienced dance music while cruising the streets in cars with subs in the trunk and listening to GHETTO HOUSE mix tapes from the likes of DJ FUNK, DJ DEEON, and DJ SLUGO. These early experiences spawned a passion within TIM for all forms of music and led to a deep exploration of both the art of music and the technical aspects of sound.

As a DJ, TIM held a weekly radio show on WNUR 89.3FM at NORTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY for over 6 years as a member of the 'PARTY TIME SOCIETY' crew. With his collaborators and mentors, SEARCHL1TE and JEEKOOS, they collectively held the show's residency for over 20 years. Currently, TIM frequently collaborates on events around CHICAGO with the DnBiD crew's RENAN and CHRISSY T/CHRISTINA TAMAYO.

TIM is also a youth educator and community advocate. His focus centers upon literacy skills and teaching emotional intelligence through music production to incarcerated and court involved youth at the COOK COUNTY JUVENILE DETENTION CENTER with a nonprofit organization called FREEWRITE ARTS AND LITERACY. TIM also assists at another not-for-profit, CIRCLES AND CIPHERS, which recently built a music studio in CHICAGO's ROGERS PARK neighborhood (a highly diverse region with a large immigrant population). This project is cultivated around restorative justice circles and implements HIP HOP music as a way to better communicate and resolve community issues.

"Deep in the rainforest on a planet similar to earth, explorers discovered a tribe hidden from civilisation throughout millennia. Living at one with the nature surrounding them, the tribesmen have managed to overcome the challenges of their hostile environment for generations. They form symbiosis with animals and plants referring to the knowledge and wisdom of their ancestors. Their vast territory offers various sights, from rushing rivers to dense jungle areas and deep underground cave systems. The fertile, yet mystic environment the natives live in has a huge influence on their social and cultural behaviour. The small group of people get together reguarly in an attempt to contact the spirits of their forefathers, ask for guidance, seek wisdom and free their minds from negativity. In a surprising and fascinating ceremony they congregate, some members bringing strange looking objects, and sit around the fire. All of a sudden the dark forest is filled with a beautiful, yet powerful sound! Aforementioned objects turn out to be instruments the tribesmen had built themselves from vines, wood, stones and all kinds of natural materials. The steady, repetitive beat created using their self-made drums has an almost hypnotizing effect. As other sounds emerge, similar to what we would describe as guitar or possibly piano and even bass, other members of the tribe begin to dance and shout. The musical ritual continues until sunrise. Tired from dancing and singing all night, the members of the Tribe of Dub go to rest. The smiles on their faces show that the ceremony defintely was a wicked one. Now, for the first time in history, the sounds of the so called Tribe Of Dub have been recorded, mastered and made accessible to the general public. The purpose of this project is to spread the vibrations around the globe, not for the sake of profit, but to improve the peoples meditations and celebrations!"

'THE GREENROOM' Guest Mix from SUB PROVIDER - January 29, 2020

On WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 29th, STUNNA closes out the month of programs with another special edition of 'THE GREENROOM' on BASSDRIVE radio. In this week's session, we're treated to an exclusive guest mix from seasoned DRUM+BASS selector and tastemaker SUB PROVIDER.

FRENCH-based artist SUB PROVIDER (aka GAETAN/GUY) began his career in electronic music in 1994 with his initial introduction to the sounds of TECHNO. Based in ANNECY, he was exposed to his first rave parties, and the wide spectrum of music there led him to discover seminal sounds of JUNGLE music as championed by the likes of GROOVERIDER, FABIO, and DJ HYPE. Relocating to the metropolis of PARIS in 1995, he found work at the TV station CANAL+ for their 'LA GRANDE FAMILLE' show, and ultimately helped to incorporate the burgeoning sounds of DRUM+BASS into their programming. Returning back to ANNECY in 1996, he learned to program on the CUBASE sequencer and joined forces with another producer to form a live TECHNO act named SUBJUNCTION. With an irresistible drive to create and perform music, he also founded the DRUM+BASS act JUNCTION 14 and signed the 'PARADOXAL PHAZE' EP to INTERZONE RECORDS in 1998. Continuing to write and perform during the remainder of the 1990s, GAETAN dabbled in a number of various live music and DJ projects. After a brief hiatus from the music scene, 2008 saw him reemerge under the 'NEON DEPT' guise, and upon his return to PARIS in 2012, he quickly fell in love with the enthralling sounds of LIQUID FUNK and began performing under the 'SUB PROVIDER' name in 2012.

With a flurry of online radio residencies and guest mixes under his belt, SUB PROVIDER currently curates the "FRENCH CONNECTION" mix series for the DIFFERNT DRUMZ site. Dedicated to showcase music from the large stable of talented producers from his homeland of FRANCE, SUB PROVIDER and his like-minded crew of DJs and producers continue to spread the gospel of quality DRUM+BASS to listeners worldwide.

'THE GREENROOM' Guest Mix from MADCAP - January 22, 2020

On WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 22nd, STUNNA moves deeper into the month of programming in 'THE GREENROOM' on BASSDRIVE radio with an exclusive guest mix from talented producer and DJ MADCAP during this week's session.

UK-based MADCAP (aka ELLIOT PAYNE) began his DJ career in the early 1990s. As the son of a ROCK N' ROLL musician father and piano teaching mother, he was exposed to music from an early age. Being so young was a stumbling block at first, but this changed in the summer of 1995 when he secured a job at local record shop BUZZ RECORDS in HIGH WYCOMBE. This was associated with DJ PULSE and the influential CREATIVE WAX label. Meeting with punters and promoters alike, MADCAP soon found himself being booked up and down the UK for sets, including the infamous SANCTUARY in MILTON KEYNES. One particular highlight of his DJ career so far was winning the MOEVEMENT/TECHNICS DJ competition in 2002 at LONDON's THE END nightclub, as featured in DJ MAG, resulting in several bookings for MOVEMENT at BAR RUMBA and across LONDON. Other notable features on MADCAP include his appearance in THE WEST COUNTRY'S IDJ MAGAZINE in JANUARY 2004 after winning "MIXTAPE OF THE MONTH." The competitions certainly helped and has continued to earn him bookings throughout the UK, and he's also held several long-term residencies in AYLESBURY, BIRMINGHAM, LONDON and OXFORD.

Since 2006, MADCAP has had a string of releases on labels such as GOOD LOOKING RECORDS, MAC II, FOKUZ, CELSIUS, RENEGADE RECORDINGS, SOUL DEEP, CREATIVE WAX and SMOOTH N GROOVE. He has remixed tracks for LTJ BUKEM, NOOKIE/CLOUD 9, TOM & JERRY (aka 4 HERO), and DJ MONITA. This includes CLOUD 9's MOVING SHADOW classic "YOU GOT ME BURNING UP" and NOOKIE's REINFORCED release "A DRUM, A BASS & A PIANO," and, more recently, a remix alongside DJ PULSE of 'FINAL CONFLICT" by THE COMMITTEE on the CREATIVE WAX imprint. Recent releases include "CARBON" on LIQUID V, THE VIBEZ '93 red vinyl project on FOKUZ, and the 'TRANQUILITY' EP on SMOOTH N GROOVE. Forthcoming releases with the late, great ANDY SKOPES (rest in peace) on DISPATCH, including the track "TROUBLE" featuring SINGING FATS, a three track vinyl release on MAKO's UTOPIA MUSIC, a 10" vinyl project with STRETCH's AKO BEATZ, and a 12" vinyl on RANDALL's MAC II label.

CREATIVE WAX, co-run by MADCAP alongside old friend DJ PULSE, was relaunched back in 2013 and together they have released several new tracks, select back cataloque on vinyl, new and retro merchandise as well. Other recent studio projects include working with artists such as FURNEY, DIGITAL, PAUL SG, SOUL STRUCTURE, and FBD PROJECT. Remix work is in progress for PAUL SG and KANTIC CHEMISTRY,with more music set for release on CREATIVE WAX. Currently, you can catch MADCAP on the airwaves during his monthly "CREATIVE WAX SHOW" (last SUNDAY each month from 4-6pm GMT courtesy of the FUTURESOUNDSRADIO site).

On WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 18, 2019, STUNNA moves deeper into the month with another special installment of 'THE GREENROOM' on BASSDRIVE Radio. In this week's broadcast, we turn our attention to one of DRUM+BASS music's finest talents and are treated to an exclusive guest mix from: FX909.

Hailing from cultural hub PARIS, FRANCE, FX909 began originally as a solo project carried out by ALEXANDRE L. As a TECHNO in the mid-1990s, ALEX became one of the leaders of the FRENCH D+B scene at the beginning of the new millennium in 2000. His music productions and duet appearances with RADIO NOVA's DJ VOLTA gained more exposure and positive media attention throughout the country. With multiple appearances in clubs, festivals, radio shows, and magazines, FX909 further defined his vision and signature sound within the global DRUM+BASS scene, as well as honed his production techniques in the studio domain.

In 2004, ALEX signed to the legendary BRITISH imprint DEFUNKED, propelling his brand of LIQUID FUNK upon the international scene. His work with FOKUZ RECORDINGS continued to showcase his unique 'sound': a palette complete with RHODES keys, soulful vocals, deep pads, strong beats and basslines aimed directly at the dance floor. With a growing catalogue of music released on some of the finest labels around, FX909 obtained international support from some of the scene's top selectors. In the span of ten years, he released more than fifty productions and collaborated with the likes of ALIX PEREZ, EGO TRIPPIN, GREG PACKER, MATHEMATICS, PAUL SG, and STUNNA, to name a few. With a need to explore other ventures and begin his own family, the year 2010 saw ALEX put his DRUM+BASS productions as FX909 into hibernation.

Fast forward to 2019, and ALEX has resumed his FX909 production moniker, not as a solo act, but rather as a three man production and DJ team. Unveiling a flurry of new releases to mark a successful return to the scene throughout the year, FX909 closes out the remaining months of 2019 in fine style. With offerings for INFLUENZA MEDIA, LIQUID DROPS, TRIBE OF DUB, and a full length album, 'UNDEFINED' (part of the artist 'spotlight' series on the ever-dependable SOUL DEEP RECORDINGS imprint), the music world is a better place with FX909 on board again.

'THE GREENROOM' Guest Mix from DJ TRAX - December 11, 2019

On WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 11, 2019, STUNNA presents a very special edition of 'THE GREENROOM' on BASSDRIVE Radio. During this week's session, we're treated to an exclusive guest mix from one of DRUM+BASS music's legendary stalwarts. Versatile and revered producer DJ TRAX makes his 'GREENROOM' debut with a guest set created especially for this broadcast.

UK-based artist DJ TRAX (aka DAVE DAVIES) began his musical journey at a young age. He started drumming at 7, DJing at 12, and at 15, he formed the HIP HOP group MIXRACE alongside two MCs (DEV PARADOX and LEKE AEROSOUL). TRAX released his first track a year later, in 1991, on BRAIN RECORDS alongside DJ RAW. In the same year, TRAX and DEV PARADOX signed to the MOVING SHADOW imprint. Over the next three years, he released solo 12"s on MOVING SHADOW under 'DJ TRAX' and joint releases with DEV under the 'MIXRACE' moniker.

In 1994, TRAX + PARADOX set up 5 record companies with SCOTT W and GARY S: MIXRACE PRODUCTIONS, MOBHANDED, NAUTILUS, OFFSET, and STRONGHOLD. They released a few dozen 12"s on the labels, both solo, and as a duo (as 'BROWN + DANGERMAN'). DAVE and DEV also collaborated with HYPER ON EXPERIENCE on the STRONGHOLD RECORDS and TIMELESS RECORDINGS imprints. From 1997 to 2003, DJ TRAX mainly focused on DOWNTEMPO/LEFTFIELD music. He released an album and two 12"s on LACERBA RECORDS an also had offerings for the GOOD LOOKING, KRIZTAL, MOLE, BEATS + PIECES, and HED KANDI imprints. From 2003 to 2009 TRAX released two further albums, "1,000 PICTURES," and "THOUGHTS IN WIDESCREEN" (which was featured on the front cover of KNOWLEDGE MAGAZINE.

Over the years, DJ TRAX has collaborated with many other esteemed artists by the likes of NAIBU, RICKY FORCE, NUCLEUS, DSP, MACC, INFEST, CRYOGENICS, ENJOY, KJ SAWKA, and BECKI BIGGINS. He has had successful releases on labels such as OUTSIDER MUSIC, PARADOX MUSIC, OCYRIS, AKO BEATZ, OMNI MUSIC, SKELETON RECORDINS, TEMPO RECORDS, TRANSMUTE, NEXT PHASE, SUBVERT CENTRAL, SUBTLE AUDIO, CRISIS, MISSPENT MUSIC, AUDIO BUFFET, SCIENTIFIC RECORDS, OFFSHORE, REPERTOIRE, SYNCOPATHIC, and his own imprint: AUDIO BUFFET. He released a series of EPs with U.S.-based HIP HOP group ASSORTED ANONYMOUS, ultimately followed by a vinyl album. Alongside these many releases, TRAX has also written for many TV/multimedia projects and scored music included in the 2008 feature film 'SHIFTY.'

Currently, you can hear DJ TRAX alongside the legendary DJ NUCELUS on the popular 'CATCH A GROOVE' program aired regularly on the JUNGLETRAIN station.

In this week's broadcast, we're treated to an exclusive guest mix from seasoned selector and producer MATT DECO as he makes his debut appearance on the show.

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA-based artist MATT DECO has been involved in DRUM+BASS, DUBSTEP, and related styles of music for over 15 years as a DJ, producer, label owner, promoter, and radio host. He has released two full-length albums, "TIMESCALES" (2013) and "REVERSE CHRONOLOGY" (2016), in addition to dozens of EPs, singles, remixes, and compilations. He now primarily releases music on his own VIBE STUDIES imprint and previously operated the DECEAST label, an outlet that championed the deeper side of BASS MUSIC during its run from 2010 to 2015.

On FRIDAY, OCTOBER 25th, MATT DECO will unleash the latest offering on VIBE STUDIES with some more left-of-center DRUM+BASS to round out 2019. On the A side, MATT links back up with longtime collaborators SUBTLE MIND on the track 'FADE TO BLONDE,' a slice of deeper, halftime D+B led by deft sample manipulation and tight keys playing. On the flip, MATT is on solo duty with 'ROPE,' a stripped back, halftime outing anchored by DUB TECHNO inspired synths and future-facing vibes.

In addition to his own labels, MATT has released music on esteemed global imprints such as SUBTITLES, THE DREAMERS, DEEP HEADS, SMOG, SUBALTERN, and FOUNDATION AUDIO, among many others.
