On WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 14th, STUNNA presents another very special edition of 'THE GREENROOM' on BASSDRIVE Radio. In this week's installment, STUNNA welcomes back talented producer and DJ SILENCE GROOVE, as he unveils a brand new guest mix created exclusively for this program.

Born and bred in the Central European country of POLAND (and now based in BRATISLAVA, SLOVAKIA), SILENCE GROOVE's love of electronic music began at an early age when his father introduced him to the intriguing sounds of KRAFTWERK, VANGELIS, and TANGERINE DREAM. In 2010, at the age of 18, he signed his first PROGRESSIVE TRANCE EP titled 'SHINY SNOW' to UNEARTHED RECORDINGS. His initial work in the TRANCE music scene garnered rave reviews, international exposure and recognition from scene luminaries PAUL VAN DYKE, ANDY MOOR, MATT DAREY, and ARMIN VAN BUUREN.

In 2011, he was inspired by the innovative sounds of producers FUTURE ENGINEERS, ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE and ELECTROSOUL SYSTEM to take his first steps into throwing his proverbial hat into the DRUM+BASS production ring. Collaborating with fellow countryman SKELETONE, the pair released their debut 'LOVE YOU LOSE' EP on the revered SOUL DEEP RECORDINGS imprint and followed up with successful offerings for the BASSDRIVE TUNES and OFFWORLD RECORDINGS music labels.

Since then, SILENCE GROOVE has continued to feature on a selection DRUM+BASS music's most prestigious labels, including HOSPITAL, INTEGRAL RECORDS, and DOC SCOTT's 31 RECORDINGS imprint (with his newest 'AUGUST RUSH' EP alongside ARP NOVA). His productions reflect the influences of various electronica genres, ranging from DOWNTEMPO, AMBIENT, to TECHNO. His unique style takes inspiration from artists in the scene such as CALIBRE, COMMIX, SEBA, LOGISTICS, and TECHNICOLOUR, among others. Sustained atmospheres, wistful arrangements, minor-chord-based hypnotic hooks and intricate breakbeat work are the staples of his sound. Carefully selected organic samples and imaginative synth work are fused together to create rich soundscapes that function well both in a club and home listening setting. His latest batch of music demonstrates an accomplished understanding of the genre through its stripped back subtleties and understated intricacies.

'THE GREENROOM' Guest Mix from THE PLATFORM PROJECT - November 16, 2022

On WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 16th, STUNNA presents another special edition of 'THE GREENROOM' on BASSDRIVE Radio. During this week's session, we're treated to an exclusive guest mix from seasoned selector DJ PI from THE PLATFORM PROJECT.

Northern UK-based DJ PI (aka SIMON BLUNDEN) started his journey as a DJ in the late '90s, after falling in love with DRUM+BASS music when he heard LTJ BUKEM's 'LOGICAL PROGRESSION' mix for the first time. That love of the LIQUID/INTELLIGENT side of D+B has never left him. Even now, he still favors productions that have musicality and soul, but he's never shy to mix things up a bit as well.

After becoming a bit jaded by the scene in the late 2010s, he began a project called "SECRET SOUNDCLOUD." It began as a series of 30-minute mixes, around 12 tracks, but all unreleased productions from a multitude of talented, emerging artists, trying to get their music heard. This built a solid following over a couple of years, and he was pleased to be invited by long-time friend JIMMY DARK to join him on BASSPORT.FM with a monthly show. After much thought, they came up with the name THE PLATFORM PROJECT, as it encapsulated the ethos of the show: showcasing the lesser-known, up-and-coming, emerging artists and labels. When BASSPORT.FM closed shop after a five year run, DJ PI was pleased to hook up with SCOTT ALLEN (founder of the venerable imrpint SOUL DEEP RECORDINGS), a former guest on the show, and he suggested DJ PI should contact the crew at FUTURE SOUNDS RADIO.

'THE GREENROOM' Guest Mix from DJ TRAX - October 19, 2022

On WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 19th, STUNNA presents another special installment of 'THE GREENROOM' on BASSDRIVE Radio. In this week's session, STUNNA welcomes back one of DRUM+BASS music's legendary stalwarts to the show. Versatile and revered producer DJ TRAX returns to 'THH GREENROOM' armed with a brand new mix created especially for this broadcast.

UK-based artist DJ TRAX (aka DAVE DAVIES) began his musical journey at a young age. He started drumming at 7, DJing at 12, and at 15, he formed the HIP HOP group MIXRACE alongside two MCs (DEV PARADOX and LEKE AEROSOUL). TRAX released his first track a year later, in 1991, on BRAIN RECORDS alongside DJ RAW. In the same year, TRAX and DEV PARADOX signed to the MOVING SHADOW imprint. Over the next three years, he released solo 12"s on MOVING SHADOW under 'DJ TRAX' and joint releases with DEV under the 'MIXRACE' moniker.

In 1994, TRAX + PARADOX set up 5 record companies with SCOTT W and GARY S: MIXRACE PRODUCTIONS, MOBHANDED, NAUTILUS, OFFSET, and STRONGHOLD. They released a few dozen 12"s on the labels, both solo, and as a duo (as 'BROWN + DANGERMAN'). DAVE and DEV also collaborated with HYPER ON EXPERIENCE on the STRONGHOLD RECORDS and TIMELESS RECORDINGS imprints. From 1997 to 2003, DJ TRAX mainly focused on DOWNTEMPO/LEFTFIELD music. He released an album and two 12"s on LACERBA RECORDS an also had offerings for the GOOD LOOKING, KRIZTAL, MOLE, BEATS + PIECES, and HED KANDI imprints. From 2003 to 2009 TRAX released two further albums, "1,000 PICTURES," and "THOUGHTS IN WIDESCREEN" (which was featured on the front cover of KNOWLEDGE MAGAZINE.

Over the years, DJ TRAX has collaborated with many other esteemed artists by the likes of NAIBU, RICKY FORCE, NUCLEUS, DSP, MACC, INFEST, CRYOGENICS, ENJOY, KJ SAWKA, and BECKI BIGGINS. He has had successful releases on labels such as OUTSIDER MUSIC, PARADOX MUSIC, OCYRIS, AKO BEATZ, OMNI MUSIC, SKELETON RECORDINGS, TEMPO RECORDS, TRANSMUTE, NEXT PHASE, SUBVERT CENTRAL, SUBTLE AUDIO, CRISIS, MISSPENT MUSIC, OKBRON, OVER/SHADOW, SCIENTIFIC RECORDS, OFFSHORE, REPERTOIRE, SYNCOPATHIC, and his own imprint: AUDIO BUFFET. He released a series of EPs with U.S.-based HIP HOP group ASSORTED ANONYMOUS, ultimately followed by a vinyl album. Alongside these many releases, TRAX has also written for many TV/multimedia projects and scored music included in the 2008 feature film 'SHIFTY.'

Intrigued by the burgeoning productions of JUNGLE/DRUM+BASS in the early 1990's, DJ ESSAY obtained his first pair of TECHNICS turntables in 1994, purchased a grip of 40 plates in the scene's hub of LONDDON, ENGLAND, and was instantly hooked on the format of vinyl. Continuing his journey through the '90s as a wax addict, ESSAY teamed up with an MC and explored a mosaic of SOUL, FUNK, and NEW JAZZ sounds. The early 2000's saw ESSAY launch his growing collection and love for analog synthesizers' endless sonic capabilities in the electronic music arena. With exposure to numerous performances from DRUM+BASS scene luminaries LTJ BUKEM and STORM around NUREMBERG, GERMANY clubs and venues, ESSAY affirmed his strong-rooted connection to the cutting-edge sounds of D+B, fresh from the scene's epicenter of the UNITED KINGDOM.

UK-based artist KOLA NUT (aka GREG PARKINSON) has been an active DJ for over two decades, specializing in DRUM+BASS/JUNGLE and occasionally turning his hand to UK GARAGE, HIP HOP, REGGAE, HOUSE and DISCO music. After throwing his hat into the production ring alongside REPERTOIRE's head honcho LAW, the pair had their first release as a team on the SILENT FORCE imprint in SEPTEMBER 2018, quickly followed in OCTOBER with their sophomore release on sister label SONIC FORCE. Hailing from WORTHING, UK, SECTION (aka JAMES BARCLAY) began his journey as a DJ in 1997, and has been fortunate to play across the UK, NEW YORK CITY, MIAMI, and PORTUGAL. SECTION starting making beats in 2006 and eventually released tracks in 2011. He's had several releases across the scene’s biggest labels including: DREAD, SKELETON RECORDINGS, SERIAL KILLAZ, AUDIO ADDICT, DEEP IN THE JUNGLE, and DIRECTORS CUT. In 2017, he launched his own label, LOCKED UP MUSIC, which has since garnered positive support from all corners of the scene. SECTION’s forthcoming LP 'THE FOURTH HOUR' is set drop on JULY 8th via PORTUGUESE imprint COUNTERPOINT RECORDINGS. Creation of the 12 track album was born out of a very challenging time for SECTION, who works for the NHS as a physiotherapist. At the inception of the LP, he was redeployed to work on COVID ICU to support hospital staff who were overwhelmed by the DELTA VARIANT. Creating the album acted as a tonic for SECTION, who wanted to create a piece of art that explored both the light and the dark of the daily challenges he faced.

'THE GREENROOM' Guest Mix from CLEN (Smooth N Groove Records) - May 18, 2022

On WEDNESDAY, MAY 18th, STUNNA presents another special installment of 'THE GREENROOM' on BASSDRIVE radio. During this week's session, STUNNA welcomes DJ and SMOOTH N GROOVE RECORDS co-label manager CLEN to the program for an exclusive guest mix.

Located just north of WASHINGTON, D.C., CLEN found a love of music at an early age, quickly finding an affinity for electronic music (DRUM AND BASS, TRANCE, CHILL, BREAKS, and more) through his teenage years. Fate would find him having a run-in with the melodic/liquid/classic atmospheric side of DRUM AND BASS and he began to dedicate his musical time devoted to the scene. Beginning in his early 20s, he started creating his weekly mixes "FRESH OFF THE DECKS," which eventually lead to the creation of SMOOTH N GROOVE RECORDS with ChRiStAL. A few years on now, he is finding just as much passion and enjoyment for music as ever, continuing to progress SMOOTH N GROOVE RECORDS with his label partner, supporting new talent, and witnessing the progression of the genre.

A few words from the man himself...

"The past few years have been quite a musical journey of its own as many things simultaneously are happening both with music and my own tastes. For one, the amount of talent new and old that is being pushed and progressed is absolutely incredible. Veterans of the scene are doing better than ever, and every day there is a new talent that is astonishing. Additionally, the amount of knowledge, technology, and well-known producers providing their experience to others on a wide format continues to push the scene onwards and upwards. Nowadays, you can really feel the influence of both a lighter touch and darker side in many tunes. For example, you can hear a real LIQUID track with some darker breaks throughout the track. Not only that, but other genres seem to be crossroading more and more. On SMOOTH N GROOVE RECORDS, we're continuing to see how we can better support the artists we've been signing including touching the vinyl side of things, and we're always on the lookout for new artists. I think one of the best things I've enjoyed about mixing or doing the SMOOTH N GROOVE podcasts, music-wise, is working with the integration of both lighter and darker tracks to create an experience, a story of sorts, for the listeners. ChRiStAL and I are continuing to work every day on the label, as we have a new SoulStructure + Friends vs SOUL DEEP vs SMOOTH N GROOVE event in the UK in JUNE, new vinyl lined up and on the way, 'HIDDEN IN THE CRATES VOL. 4' compilation under development, merchandise coming, the new BANDCAMP page up, and also an ever-growing and evolving lineup of talented producers. Shouts to all the fans and everyone involved on all levels of the music."

KOLYA (aka NIK) has been making music and DJing for decades. He is the founder of the globally lauded SHOOT RECORDINGS imprint. BC RYDAH is a JUNGLE DJ, Producer, remixer from LONG BEACH, CALIFORNIA. During his career as a DJ, he's shared the stage with the likes of FRANKIE BONES, R.A.W. aka 6BLOCC, DIESELBOY, JON1ST, APX-1, CRS?, SINISTARR, SIXFOOTUNDA, JASON BLAKEMORE, DJ STARSCREAM, U-OME, OSCAR DA GROUCH, E-SASSIN, RON D CORE, JACKY MURDA, OSCI, MRS. MAGOO, DJ BABEL, M27, NINJA FAREYE, and MIZEYESIS, to name a few. BC RYDAH has also been running the JUNGLE music label YESKA BEATZ UNLIMITED since 2014, and its sister label, YELLOW JACKET RECORDINGS, since 2018. With multiple releases on further labels such as RUFF GUIDANCE, SOUND SO FIRECE, and WICKED JUNGLE, as well as countless singles on independent labels across the globe, expect to hear more excitiing music from BC RYDAH in 2022 and beyond.

On WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 9th, STUNNA presents another special edition of 'THE GREENROOM' on BASSDRIVE radio. During this week's session, we're treated an exclusive guest mix from multi-talented artist ChRiStAL, as he makes his debut appearance on the program.

UK-based DJ ChRiStAL (aka CHRIS AU) first got behind the decks in the late 1990s and has since developed a large collection of mixes in his own unique style. In 2016, he launched the SMOOTH N GROOVE RECORDS imprint, in partnership with his AMERICAN counterpart, CLEN, bringing the world the best in soulful and groovy DRUM+BASS music ever since. In 2019, ChRiStAL and CLEN linked up with SCOTT ALLEN, founder of the mighty SOUL DEEP RECORDINGS label, to create an all-vinyl imprint RHYTHM SYNDICATE RECORDS, and have since seen a string of successful releases.
