On WEDNESDAY, JULY 19th, STUNNA moves deeper in to the month of broadcasts in 'THE GREENROOM' on BASSDRIVE Radio. In this week's edition, STUNNA welcomes producer on the rise SAM LINK to the program for an exclusive debut guest mix.
Born and raised in MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN, SAM LINK (aka SAM BOTTONI) has been drawn to UK-inspired sounds since the late ‘90s. He began his DJ career by playing vinyl in small venues and parties in downtown MILWUAKEE while dabbling in music production. After moving to CHICAGO in 2000 to study music at DePAUL UNIVERSITY, DJing became a regular part of weekend life, including supporting international headliners. Living blocks away from GRAMAPHONE RECORDS, crate-digging was a passion. In 2004, he took another step in his music career and moved to MIAMI, FLORIDA to earn a MASTER'S DEGREE in ELECTRONIC MUSIC COMPOSITION from the UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI FROST SCHOOL OF MUSIC. Putting DJing aside for several years, he dove into generative music synthesis and performance utilizing MAX/MSP, CSOUND, and REAKTOR. After moving back to WISCONSIN, SAM continued to hone his skills creating digital music. He has since gone back to his roots and first love, DJing in MILWAUKEE and his now home base of MADISON, WISCONSIN, creating music that combines new and classic techniques that often hark back to the golden age of UK BREAKS and JUNGLE.
With current releases on CODENAME: RCRDS and YUKU, SAM's strong musical output has received regular rotation worldwide and has been featured on RINSE FM, HŌR BERLIN, BBC RADIO 6, NTS, and SUBTLE RADIO.
