On WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 16th, STUNNA presents another very special installment of 'THE GREENROOM' on BASSDRIVE Radio. During this week's session, STUNNA welcomes established DJ, producer, and label head SOUL INTENT to the program, as he makes his inaugural appearance and unveils an exclusive guest mix.
UK-based DRUM+BASS artist SOUL INTENT (aka ALEX JUDD) has been DJing since he was 15, but it wasn't until he moved to NOTTINGHAM in SEPTEMBER 2000 to study that he landed his first main room gigs at various local events including BASSIC, DETONATE, STEALTH PRESENTS, and KOMBINATION FUNK. In 2005, ALEX, along with some other local DJs and producers, set up BRUTAL RECORDINGS, and the collective released two 12" vinyl singles under the moniker DATASET. But shortly after the second release, the group parted ways.
2006 saw ALEX receive his first high-profile airplay courtesy of MARY ANN HOBBS and her legendary BBC RADIO 1 show. This was shortly followed with both GROOVERIDER and DJ FLIGHT playing "BIBIO DUB" (released on DJ RANDALL's MAC II label) on their RADIO 1 and 1XTRA programs, with GROOVERIDER stating on-air "I'm expecting big things from this guy." In 2013, after releasing on labels such as 31 RECORDS, PROJECT 51, SAMURAI MUSIC, and COMMERCIAL SUICIDE, ALEX launched his own imprint, LOSSLESS MUSIC. With early releases enjoying high praise in some of the world's leading dance music press, including MIXMAG awarding his "LATE NIGHT SLEAZE" track, D+B TUNE OF THE MONTH.
Over the last 20 years, ALEX has performed across EUROPE, DJing at high-profile global events such as: CITY OF FLOW (BELGIUM), STAR WARZ (BELGIUM), SUN AND BASS (ITALY), CHEEKY MONDAYS (HOLLAND), AIRPORT JAM (ESTONIA), FABRIC (UK), SOUL IN MOTION (UK), and SPECTRUM (IRELAND). Alongside his busy DJ and production schedules, ALEX has also found time to maintain a number of auxiliary labels alongside LOSSLESS MUSIC for both his own musical output, and other like-minded artists. With a refined and diverse catalogue of both vinyl and digital releases, his EXKURSIONS and DOPE PLATES labels, as well as his recently-launched MOONCRAFT imprint, showcase ALEX's creativity and versatility in the studio domain.
SEPTEMBER 2026 sees the release of the sophomore offering on MOONCRAFT: a label created specificially as an outlet for ATMOSPHERIC D+B and JUNGLE. In form of the 'INSIDE YOURSELF' EP, ALEX delivers four exquisitely crafted tracks with both a nod to the past and glimpse of the future. Available on SEPTEMBER 11th exclusively on his BANDCAMP page, the EP sees worldwide release two weeks later, on SEPTEMBER 25th.
