On WEDNESDAY, JULY 1st, STUNNA kicks off a brand new month of programs in 'THE GREENROOM' on BASSDRIVE Radio. During this week's broadcast, we're treated to an exclusive guest mix from talented, multi-facted artist SEARCHL1TE, as he makes his triumphant return to the program.
A ubiquitous figure in the CHICAGO DJ community, SEARCHL1TE (aka RYAN KEESLING) traces common threads between movement, culture, and time. As an educator, RYAN uses music to build creative communities with young people in CHICAGO who are experiencing incarceration and criminalization. He's recently launched a new platform, 'SLAG CITY,' for the music and visuals he's been creating, as well as remixes from close collaborators from CHICAGO and beyond. In the studio, he constructs DRUM+BASS-forward tunes with his own field recordings, samplings from a nerdy collection of vinyl, analog grit cranked out of piles of old gear, featuring collaborations with the underground's toughest lyricists and musicians. SEARCHL1TE has toured nationally and internationally, held down a weekly radio show on WNUR 89.3 FM in CHICAGO for two decades, and released grips of tunes and remixes for labels around the world.
