On AUGUST 15, 2012, STUNNA shifts gears and looks toward the Pacific Northwest region of the United States to uncover a group of talented DJ/producers in the great city of
SEATTLE, WASHINGTON. With countless hours spent both hard at work behind the scene in studios as well as in front of audiences on the decks, these three individuals have put both their home city and NORTH AMERICA firmly on the global Drum+Bass map. For this special session of 'THE GREENROOM,' STUNNA will feature two exclusive guest mixes from the trio. I introduce to you

QUADRANT
QUADRANT, a.k.a Leigh Caplan, has been writing quality Drum+Bass for nearly a decade. From his humble origins as a hungry young producer in a PHILADELPHIA basement, to his current status as a respected artist on the worldwide scene, the goal has always been the same: make music that he is proud to call his own.
Originally a four-person collective, having gained modest notoriety for their bootleg of FAITHLESS's "CRAZY ENGLISH SUMMER," 2005 saw
QUADRANT's debut release, "ARACHNID," on the legendary UK label RENEGADE HARDWARE. During the next year, they released three more tunes on HARDWARE, most notably "MANIPULATED LIVING" on the 'CARPE DIEM' LP, a track that hasn't left many DJs' crates since. Following these initial successes was a highly respected slew of appearances on TRIPLE VISION labels CITRUS and FOKUZ, showcasing equal proclivities for dancefloor impact and melodic beauty – a rare combination in a genre that so often seems to favor one at the expense of the other.
QUADRANT's transformation into a solo project has only served to increase the volume, quality, and focus of the music. Counterintuitively, it has also allowed for a wider variety of collaborations with fellow artists from around the world; a recent co-production with like-minded producers ALLIED on TRUST IN MUSIC, a killer remix swap with ITALY's venerable DABS on CITRUS, and several works penned with fellow
SEATTLE producers such as
HOMEMADE WEAPONS,
IRIS, and KID HOPS. With tracks newly signed to TOTAL SCIENCE's C.I.A imprint, as well as worldwide DJ support from artists such as GOLDIE, SILENT WITNESS, SURVIVAL, ULTERIOR MOTIVE, and STATE OF MIND, this is an exciting time for
QUADRANT, and loyal fans everywhere.

IRIS
IRIS, a.k.a. Karen Caplan, was introduced to electronic music at age 13, when she first heard “INSOMNIA” by FAITHLESS on
SEATTLE’s C89.5 radio station. Since then, her love affair with the music has only intensified as she has honed a diverse set of tastes and an equally exacting repertoire of skills behind the decks. Her journey has taken her from UK Hard House, into the sounds of Trance and Progressive, finally culminating in her current focus of deep Drum+Bass, Techno, and more recently, FRENCH House.
Not content to simply play the music she loves,
IRIS's original productions have begun to gain notice from some of the biggest names in worldwide Drum+Bass. "SPARSE," in collaboration with
QUADRANT, has featured on mixes from SILENT WITNESS and SURVIVAL, has been featured regularly in sets by luminaries such as ED RUSH and ANT TC1, and is slated for release on DABS's hot new label, AVANTGARDE. A second collaboration, "OBSOLETE" (with
QUADRANT and KID HOPS), is forthcoming on TOTAL SCIENCE's legendary label, C.I.A.
With even more productions in the works, and a full slate of DJ appearances,

HOMEMADE WEAPONS
As a child of the '80s,
HOMEMADE WEAPONS, a.k.a Andre Delgado, witnessed the birth and growth of many musical styles, and has always favored the extreme ends of the spectrum - from frighteningly heavy to delicately soft. Having fully internalized the musical ethos of his native BALTIMORE/DC, and his more recent backdrop of
SEATTLE, WASHINGTON, his music exhibits a combination of subtlety, power, and depth, rare in any genre, but much more so in the confines of Drum+Bass.
As of late, the right people are taking notice. Some of the genre's heaviest hitters are supporting his music, which is forthcoming on labels such as CYLON, CITRUS, TECH:NOIR, DIFFERENT, INCEPTION, RUBIK, PROTECT, CYCLONE, and
SEATTLE's very own
ONSET AUDIO.
