'THE GREENROOM' Guest Mix from ANIMATE - October 18, 2017

On WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 18, 2017, STUNNA presents a special episode of 'THE GREENROOM' on BASSDRIVE Radio. In this installment, we shed light upon DJ and label head ANIMATE as he graces the 'GREENROOM' with a fresh mix for his inaugural visit.

Exposed to dance music from an early age, the pioneering sounds of LEFTFIELD, ORBITAL, THE CHEMICAL BROTHERS, and THE PRODIGY were just a few of the many inspirational acts that helped ANIMATE develop his passion for electronic music. Growing up on the outskirts of LONDON, ENGLAND, ANIMATE was a mere child when DRUM AND BASS music took itself earliest forms. Upon hearing the mixes of LTJ BUKEM, GOLDIE, and OMNI TRIO, ANIMATE began his love affair with the genre, as listening to and studying these key figureheads help to shape him into the DJ he is today.

Once adulthood took course, ANIMATE made the most of his time in nightclubs by studying the craft of mixing, but it wasn't until his early 20s that he began to take the art form on himself. Now located in MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA, ANIMATE decided to take further steps in his music career by launching his own DRUM AND BASS imprint: BEAT SPECTRUM. Moving strength to strength in just its first year in business, BEAT SPECTRUM has over 15 releases from a stable of gifted artists including TWINTONE, SYNTHETIC JOURNEY, SKARPA, and ALEX G.

Juggling various interests, ANIMATE has also made time to immerse himself as a key member of THE TECH COLLECTIVE. A crew of like-minded JUNGLISTS, MELBOURNE-based THE TECH COLLECTIVE has been busy throwing events the past few years, featuring the likes of AMIT, A.M.C., AMOSS, CERN, and many more.

Join us this installment as ANIMATE presents his guest mix, guiding listeners thru his many tastes, and giving us a peek at what his label is up to. Tune in!!
